Ceili
Located in County Offaly in the heartland of traditional Irish culture, Rahan Comhaltas is an organisation dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of traditional Irish music, song, dance and storytelling. The talented musicians in Rahan Comhaltas play accordians, fiddles, flutes, tin whistles, guitars, banjos, bodhrans, mandolins and keyboards. On Sunday afternoon they will play on the main stage, encouraging all to get involved in an outdoor hooley!
Re-Dress
Exploring ethics and fashion, Re-dress will be hosting visual
exhibitions, upcycling demonstrations and a participatory art
project ‘TACTILE TEXTILE’ with textiles designer Sinead Kane.

Art Exhibition
Every year we put on different art exhibitions within Charleville Castle. Situated in the Main Hall, everyone can access and browse the exhibition for free or relax beside the open fire with friends. Open daily from 12 noon to 8pm.
The Poetry Divas
The Poetry Divas were formed in the summer of 2008 and performed an eclectic set at the Electric Picnic Festival in a teepee and in a bog house. This year at Castle Palooza, The Poetry Divas feature Kate Dempsey, Niamh Bagnell and Tríona Walsh in a deliciously infectious show that’s bound to touch a nerve and blur the wobbly boundaries between page and stage. Kate is a seasoned poet, both salt and vinegar, widely published in Ireland and the UK and has been nominated and won many prizes including The Francis MacManus and Hennessy New Irish Writing awards for both Poetry and Fiction. Niamh is published in the acclaimed anthology ‘Night and Day’ and reads her poems in public whenever she gets the chance, including The International Bar, Dublin, The Naked Lunch, White House Poets, Limerick and Farmleigh House. Tríona is in this writing lark for hard cash . She won the Jonathan Swift Award in ’08 and has been moonwalking ever since.
